The Best Pet Cameras and Smart Feeders for Travelers

Updated April 2026 | 3 min read

When you leave three cats at home to fly to another continent, “just check on them when you get back” is not an option. Jenna and I have tested five different pet cameras and three automatic feeders over the past few years. Here is what we actually use, what we returned, and what is worth the money.

Pet Cameras

Furbo 360 — Our Top Pick ($99)

The Furbo 360 is marketed for dogs, but it works perfectly for cats. 360-degree rotating view, two-way audio, treat-tossing. No subscription required for core features. During Amazon sales, it drops to $44.

Wyze Cam Pan v3 — Best Budget ($30-35)

The Wyze Cam Pan v3 gives 90% of the Furbo experience for a third of the price. 360-degree panning, color night vision, pet detection. No treat dispenser. We keep one in the bedroom as a secondary camera.

Petcube Bites 2 Lite ($79-99)

The Petcube Bites 2 Lite has a built-in treat dispenser. The downside is the subscription push — $5.99/month for smart alerts and video history. Without it, live viewing only. Get the Furbo instead.

Automatic Feeders

PETLIBRO Granary — Our Daily Driver ($89-129)

The PETLIBRO Granary combines an automatic feeder with a 1080p camera. 5-liter hopper holds enough dry food for weeks. We run two — one for Merlin and one shared for Minnie and Menace.

PetSafe 5-Meal — Budget Offline Option ($35-40)

The PetSafe 5-Meal feeder is a rotating tray with no WiFi, no app. Dumb tech that works reliably. Also the only option that handles wet food. We keep one as a backup.

Other Gear That Helps

Total cost for the full setup if buying new: roughly $450-500. Compare that to a single two-week boarding bill for three cats ($1,350+) and it pays for itself on the first trip. For reliable international data to monitor everything, we use Airalo eSIMs.
